Theme Change

Hey y’all! I got a question about themes!

I’m thinking about changing my theme (no promises, just an idea in my head right now). Have any of my most venerable followers or blogging associates changed their theme after their site was established? I messed around with theme changes the first few days of starting the blog but I always assumed once you had your blog for more than a month you were kinda stuck with that theme. Am I right or is it okay to change your theme even after you’ve had it for more than 6 months?

Thanks in advance!

  1. You can change your themese any time you like. Personally, I try and fit my theme to what will work best to my posts. E.g. if you are trying to highlight your photos then you should choose a theme that will do so..

  2. Most other bloggers will see your posts through reader, it would actually be best to change your theme if it improves the site because non-bloggers who have never seen your stuff will see that first. So if you think it’s better for what you want to accomplish, go for it.

  3. Yeah, you can change your theme and it’s pretty easy to do so. Be prepared though; different themes can have different features and requirements. Some will provide certain widgets that others will not. Some will provide a sidebar on either side and others will only provide the left sidebar while still others will only provide the right sidebar. I think most provide the bottom bar. Then there’s differences in the dimensions of the headings you have to prepare for. I don’t mean to discourage you but provide you with the headaches I’ve had because I wasn’t aware of these little quirkes different themes can have. Hope it helps! 🙂

  4. I’ve only changed my theme once, officially, since I started my blog a year ago. I don’t see anything wrong with a little refreshing of your layout every once in a while. It all depends on how you feel about it, any readers that come by it will either get used to it or not even think twice. One blogger I follow, who you can read at https://tonyburgess1969.net/ , likes to change his theme every couple of months or so. It’s all up to you, and you don’t have to put too much thought or stress into it. The one I currently use is “Avalanche”, and I like to personalize it with a nice header image, which is currently a view of the sky from my front yard. Hope that helps!
